Hello Hues

Designing Socks for Creativity & Social Impact

Role

Lead Visual Designer , Brand Consultant

Objective

To design a visually compelling and meaningful sock collection inspired by the drawings of underprivileged children, with profits supporting their communities.

Overview

At Hello Hues, a New York-based sock company, I led the visual design and creative direction to bring the brand's mission to life: creating distinctive socks inspired by children's artwork from around the world. Each design reflected the spirit of the young artists, and a portion of the profits was dedicated to supporting them.

Process

  • Collaboration: Worked closely with the client to ensure the designs aligned with their vision while integrating valuable feedback.

  • Design Iteration: Transformed children's illustrations into sock designs by refining color palettes, patterns, and details through iterative cycles.

  • Balancing Form and Function: Focused on both visual appeal and functionality, ensuring the socks were as practical as they were stylish.

Outcome

  • Unique Collection: Delivered a collection of socks that captured the essence of the children's drawings, each telling a story of creativity and hope.

  • Social Impact: Combined creativity and social responsibility, allowing customers to make a difference while wearing stylish products.

  • Client Success: Seamlessly fused the client's vision with my expertise to create a product line that resonated with both their mission and market.

This project showcased my ability to combine creativity, social impact, and product design, making it a fulfilling experience that highlighted the power of thoughtful design.
